Where DO THEY LIVE?
The komodo dragons live in the Indonesian Islands of Komodo, Padar, Flores, and some of the lesser islands.
Why Is It Unique?
The komodo dragons are able to swallow their entire prey they catch such as pigs. They have 60 very sharp teeth to tear into the flesh of their prey. The komodo dragon's tail is longer then its body.
What Does It Eat?
Komodo Dragons eat deer, carrion, pigs, buffalo, other dragons, hogs, and on very rare occasions, humans.
What threatens these lizards?
Poachers are a big threat to the dragons. These see them as big trophies that need to collect. The loss of prey is also a threat.
Does this animal use its adaptations?
It uses its bacteria in its mouth to act as poison to kill its prey.
